Hanauma Ridge
Hanauma Bay is famous for its snorkeling, but the hike on the ridge over the bay is also well worth the while.

Like many trails on this part of the island (southeast corner), the path itself is quite open and follows dry terrain. The cactus and grasses are interesting, but the primary highlights are the views from the top.

It’s quite windy on the ridge directly above Hanauma Bay, which is welcome since it’s a hot and dry area of the island.

The top of the ridge houses communication towers and a suspicious looking government installation. I suspect extraterrestrial contact, which I personally welcome 🙂

The views of the windward coast from the top, and the overlook of Maunalua Bay from a vantage point just above China Walls / Portlock make this hike another fave for us.
