Ohana November
ohana = family
November was family time! The highlight was having Troy’s mom Mabel as our guest of honor. She stayed with us for 12 days and had the time of her life!
We took her to many of our favorite places:

One of her main requests was to go to a traditional luau. We chose Paradise Cove, which had a yummy buffet that included roast pig and poi, nice crafts and demonstrations, some lovely dance performances, and amazing fire dancers!

Another item on her list was Pearl Harbor:

And an escape room! (We chose the one in Ala Moana, which had excellent puzzles and sophisticated props!

We celebrate half birthdays in our family, and we maintained the tradition for River’s 19.5 with chocolate pie and a helium balloon.

We didn’t get many photos from Thanksgiving, unfortunately (and none with Troy!). We had an open house all day, starting off with a couple of River’s friends, then our terrific neighbors Sony and Gustavo came over for drinks; we had dinner late afternoon with River, Marielle, and River’s roommate Jakai and his girlfriend (pic below), and finished off the day with another round of drinks with our friend Viv. It was our first tropical holiday!
